The Overweight Lover “Heavy D” Inspired People on The Day He Died

I can’t believe that Heavy D is gone!  Apparently he collapsed near his Beverly Hills home and later died at the age of 44 on Tuesday, November 8, 2011.  I remember like yesterday, when I was teenager, bumping to “Somebody For Me”.

I even followed him on Twitter and ironically his last few tweets were on November 8, 2011 (the day of his death), in which he retweeted Shaq’s respects to Joe Frazier who died the day before him.  He also saluted Mr. Frazier in his own words “SMOKIN JOE FRAZIER..RIP.. truly one of the best heavyweight champs that ever lived.. GODS SPEED,MR FRAZIER!”  His very last tweet on the day of his death was “BE INSPIRED!”, in which Heavy “D” was notorious for his encouraging remarks on Twitter.

My prayers and blessings go out to Heavy D’s family.  He certainly will be in the record books as a legend in the music industry and will be truly missed!
