Chef Roble’ Goes From Wine Throwing Kosher to Sex In The Kitchen!

Episode aired:  12/11/2011

I have come to the conclusion, you name your event and Chef Roble’ has got it covered!  So impressed with Roble’ not turning down anything!  He did his first Kosher/Vegan/Thai Catering job for Matisyahu (Musician), who was having a going away party.  He did have to go out of the box a little because he had to let Rabbi Marrus in his kitchen to oversee that the Kosher preparation was proper.

The budget for the party was $8,500 for 35 people and on the menu:

  • Appetizer:  Thai Mushroom Salad (Shiitake, Maitake Mushrooms with a spicy lime Vinaigrette)
  • Entrée:  Massasman Curry (Red Bell Peppers, Tofu, and Lotus Chips over Jasmine Rice)
  • Dessert:  Thai Tea Sorbet (With a Coconut Cream Drizzle)

Matisyahu throwing Wine in Mother-in-Law, Drina's Face

The party was held at the Linger Cafe’ Garden in Brooklyn and it seems like they had a great time!  Especially when they started throwing the Kosher Wine at each other.  Whatever the case, Chef Roble’ and his team nailed the occasion, because everyone loved the food!

The next event was Chef Roble’s first celebrity event.  His sister Jasmine received the hook-up from a friend.  Who was the celebrity?  None other than Real Housewife of Atlanta “Kandi Burruss”.  Kandi was having, as Jasmine explained to a shocked Chef Roble’, an “Intement Line of Luxury Product Launch”.  That was a nice way of putting “Sex Toy Launch Party”.

Kandi expressed that she wanted soul food and as expected, Chef Roble’ brought the soul food with a twist!  The budget was $30,000 and on the Menu:

  • Collard Green Cornbread Pudding
  • Duck Bacon Mac & Cheese (with smoked goat cheese and duck bacon)
  • Chicken & Waffle Sliders (with a Chipotle Drizzle)
  • Shrimp & Grits (Spicy Creole Sauce)
  • Dessert:  Peach Cobbler Push-ups

Kandi Eating a Peach Cobbler Push-up

Kandi was pleasantly surprised because Sous Chef Adam, may not have known of Xcape, The Real Housewife of Atlanta, probably nothing of Hip Hop, but he certainly knew Collard Greens which he nailed for the Collard Green Cornbread Pudding.  Kandi even gave a demonstration of how to eat Kikuyo’s Peach Cobbler Push-ups, it was a very interesting take.

Kandi was really pleased with the party except Jasmine’s surprise of having Veronica Varlow (Burlesque Dancer) perform was not pleasing to Kandi.  If anybody knows Kandi they certainly know she prefers to see men strip.  Jasmine meant well, but no cigar!

Jasmine and her son Anton

Off the subject, almost had a tear, when Jasmine was Skype-ing her son Anton. Her story was so heart-wrenching, of having him at a young age (college) and how she was afraid her family would be ashamed.  She was wrong because her family showed nothing but support!  Her son is her world and he is living with his father while Jasmine is in New York, but he joins mom for the summer.

Back on the subject Chef Roble’ has another two events in the record books and he certainly is one of the baddest in the business…..hands down.  Congratulations to Kikuyo for her gift of a Dildo from Kandi for the delicious Peach Cobbler Push-ups, Kikuyo seemed thrilled!  A special episode tomorrow 12/12/2011 on Bravo with Vanessa Williams. Be sure to tune in and if you miss it, you can always come back to ListenSpeakBlog and get the rundown!

I’m SMarchel and Blog on it!  It’s my Opinion!

  1. Recipes would be nice. Everyone who watched the show knows what the menu was.

    • Anonymous: You are correct, everyone who watches the show knows what the menu was, but some may have forgotten and may want to refer back. Also, everyone sometimes does not get to see the show. This blogs purpose was just to highlight the show and its contents. I hope Chef Roble’ does author a cookbook. Believe me I would be the first to buy one!

      Thank you for your comment.
